Dovetailors.
Logo & brand guidelines.

Client:
Dovetailors began in 2005 by Emmanuelle and David as a small bespoke designer maker with a passion for turning customers ideas into stunning designs. Today, through that same commitment and passion they have grown into one of the North of Englands foremost furniture design houses.

Dovetailors is growing and expanding their customer base, key audiences and manufacturing capabilities so they wanted to reposition themselves in the market and both the brand and website needed a refresh.

Project:
Following an insightful visit to the premises I was able to understand the problems they currently had and their vision for the company moving forward. Working with Dovetailors managing director and marketing coordinator we discussed a logo refresh and strapline and how it needed to be adaptable for the key areas with a new colour palette.

I presented three concepts to the team including one evolution and two new designs, it was valuable to gain everyones feedback for further development. The final chosen logo is an evolution of the previous Dovetailors logo, modernising the letter‭ ‬‘D’‭, ‬whilst still incorporating the dovetail joint‭. ‬

The shapes‭, ‬with both sharp and soft edging‭, ‬mirror the precision of components and brings them together to form the logo‭. ‬

The final presentation included the logo, new colour palette, full brand library, brand guidelines and visuals for rollout.

Testimonial:
Through a recommendation, we approached Helen to help us redesign and update our company logo and brand identity. We already had a strong brand identity but needed Helen's expertise and creativity to bring it up to date and create diverse branding for our subsectors. We really enjoyed the whole process, as from our first conversation to the end Helen demonstrated attentiveness and really sought to understand who we are and was keen to learn as much as possible. She maintained frequent contact, and we never felt the need to chase her up for updates. Helen took the time to ask in-depth questions to truly grasp our company's identity and ethos, even taking a look around our workshop to get a real feel for it and talking with the whole team!

We needed our main identity revamped, as well as future-proof branding for our subsectors, while maintaining a cohesive larger brand identity. Our company’s unique structure also meant that these ideas needed to be communicated effectively to several key stakeholders. Helen delivered on all fronts and provided us with a range of options that helped us figure out exactly what we needed. Her comprehensive documentation showcased how the new branding would look in practical terms, which made us feel more comfortable with such a significant change.

Helen attentively listened to our feedback and made adjustments accordingly when we made our final choice. We couldn't be happier with the results. The branding documentation she provided was comprehensive, leaving us fully satisfied whenever we need to refer to anything related to our branding.
