Let’s meet up soon.

Most of us still like an online meeting, I don’t think we’ll ever leave Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, even I admit it saves time but there are still times when it’s far more important to take the time and meet clients face to face. I don’t want to talk to your avatar (or cat), hear your voice but never see your face, have distractions or miss essential information thanks to the internet freezing.

I recently had a new client meeting and I took the approach of inviting myself to their premises to meet them, why?

• It’s important to get a feeling for the client. It’s not just that you need good work producing, I need good clients. Building a relationship with a client and their team is essential if we are going to work together. We need to be a good fit, understand each others way of working and expectations.

• I need to gauge an understanding of your product/service. Even a short tour of your premises, whether that be a factory/showroom, meeting the team or gaining some inside knowledge, even the smallest details can help with ideas and creativity.

• Having a chat can also plan for future projects, it may spark ideas for other projects we can work together on. You may only come to me for one piece of work but you may go away thinking of all the other possibilities and how I can help develop those with you.

If this is also your way of thinking then let’s meet up soon.
