Fancy a font?

Valentines - Fancy a Font.jpg

If you know me, you’ll know I love a good font. There are so many fonts out there and each week, even after 16 years in design, I find yet another to fall in love with!

If you think of fonts there are so many styles: traditional, script, calligraphic, geometric, art deco, handwriting, comic, formal, retro, typewriter, graffiti, stencil, the list goes on but the main 4 are serif, sans serif, script and decorative/display.

Website fonts have changed over the years, gone are the days of been restricted to Arial, Times New Roman or Helvetica and now thanks to Google fonts (amongst other great sites), you can now bring personality and performance to your website.

Ever heard of Type Tasting? Sarah Hyndman (*huge admirer*) is brilliant at changing the way we think and talk about typography by making it fun and exciting. Check out her book ‘Why Fonts Matter’.
